Where’s the message board you ask? Gone. Too much drama, too much rambling and too many complaints from posters and non-posters alike. If you still need a fix check our links page for an alternate message board where some people hang out. On a different note thanks to everyone at the Longview show last night. That was one of the best times we’ve ever had playing!

Mad props, big ups, much respect and any other expression you want to throw in to thank Lyle for filling on bass last week. You can find Lyle playing drums for The Muddy River Nightmare Band in a dive near you. Anyway, Dave’s going to try to go it alone and return to bass duties this weekend in Longview. I can’t believe it’s been 8 months since we played there. Looking forward to seeing all our homies again!

Thanks to Darin from the street team for making the e-card you might have seen on our home page. Also, let it be known that our bass stand-in Lyle should be referred to as Lyle “Let’s See A Circle Pit You Pussies” Brown.

Take a second to thank yourself that you are not Dave. Why? Aside from that thing we call “the cheese toes” (not to be confused with Cheetos) Dave now has a broken leg, a broken ankle, is sporting crutches and wearing a large, unsightly cast on his left leg. Doctors orders are not to walk on it, keep it elevated and avoid physical activity for 6-8 weeks. Rather than cancel any shows we are having our friend Lyle Brown play bass for the next few weeks so Dave can concentrate on singing and not falling over. The warning is out now though, if you bump into Dave during our set he is fully prepared to break his other foot off in your ass.

Thanks to everyone who made that Death By Stereo show so much damn fun. We’re stoked to be playing some more and have added a few more shows for June and July. Also our 7″ for Get In The Van is available now. You can pick it up at a show, mail order it from us or get it online at Interpunk.com.

Album Review

I bought this album straight from the band on about the 5th time I saw them. To see them live then listen to the record is like 2 completely different experiences, the live show is an intense experience with many of their songs incorporating gang chants, and everyone around you singing every lyric. The album is equally great the music is tight the lyrics are catchy, with songs for everyone such as “Day of the Dead” with its misfits-esque lyrics or the emotional “Refuse to Be.” I recommend you buy this album immediately if your into great punk rock

This will probably be our last update before the big show with Death By Stereo so I’ll try to make it a good one.  First and foremost this will be our first show since January so please come out early and show your support!  We’re going to be playing some new songs that have never been heard before which is always an event in itself.  They either go great or they go horribly … there is no in between.  Also, this show is going to be the official release of our first actual record … a 7″ for ‘Get In The Van’ on Infringement Records.  We’ll have them for sale at the show including the limited edition ones on blood red vinyl!  You might have noticed we added a few more shows to our calendar as well.  One is in Portland w/ Bigwig and the other is in Longview w/ Himsa and Countdown To Life.  Both of them should be great shows and we’re totally looking forward to both of them.  Another thing we’ve got coming up is a few appearances on some more compilation CD’s, most notably ‘Shut The Punk Up 3’ on New School Records (along w/ NOFX, The Deviates, Thrice and more).  For more info and release dates check our discography page.  Needless to say it’s shaping up to be a good few months and we’re looking forward to seeing some familiar faces again at the shows.  Oh yeah, big ups to the PDX/Longview street team people for helping with the flyer distribution!

Does anyone have pictures of us from the Halloween show with Gwar? We were just thinking how it would be cool to see those sometime. Also, props to The Jimmies for 16 years of rocking.

Ok, so maybe the April Fool’s Joke this year didn’t top the great Styx hoax of 2002. I guess it’s flattering to know you can’t out do yourself. So yeah … just to clarify Mr. T will not be playing drums for 800 Octane this year. Before you criticize our questionable sense of humor ask yourself how many other bands went through the trouble to try and amuse you this year?

The new ‘discussion forum / message board / guestbook / space for public abuse’ is up and running. Don’t like it? Too bad. It’s free and it doesn’t require Eric to learn any more of that godforsaken ASP coding.
