The Uberfan title and chance to appear on our next album is awarded to Alex Cook from Sandy, OR. We got several e-mails from Alex during the course of the contest. One e-mail displayed lyrics to a song written about us and another contained audio clips where he actually performed the song. Later we got some threatening e-mails from his friends but the clincher was a 35 point plan explaining why he should be the uberfan. Congrats Alex, you rock. Now, please promise not to suck on our next record! Honorable mention to Ben 56 for his Photoshop based “artwork” which depicted a XXX lesbian scene with Justin’s head superimposed on both of the female bodies.

Phase 1 of recording is officially done. Truth be told it’s not actually a ‘phase’ rather than we just had to split the recording into 2 sessions. Phase just sounds much more impressive though. Anyway, we go back in March to finish up the background vocals and then mix this thing down. We should have an idea of a release date when the recording is completed. It sounds great so far and we are certain that at least a handful of people out there will be impressed.

Tomorrow morning we are off to Egg Studios to start recording. We are going to attempt to document the endeavor with updates and pictures. Strong emphasis on the word attempt. Should we actually manage to post some updates they will be posted on Eric’s page. On an unrelated note it should also be known that we got our copies of Universe 2 on DVD which features ‘Day Of The Dead’ on it. The subject of the DVD? Extreme unicycling. Seriously. The stuff is in-freaking-sane and big thanks to Syko Productions for getting us the hookup.

We demoed our songs for the new album last weekend and they sound pretty cool. Nothing worthy of posting though (no vocals) so you’ll have to wait a while to hear the new tunes. The DVD is coming along slowly but surely. We’re about 1/3 of the way through the editing so we’re probably looking at a spring release date. By the way if you mail ordered anything from us over the past 2 months it should be going out in the mail real soon. We had so much crap in our PO Box that they had set it all aside in a back room without bothering to tell us. When they saw us in there yesterday, they ended up giving us a huge stack of old stuff that dated back to November. Needless to say there are a ton of patches and stickers going out in today’s mail!

Well, another year has arrived and another one has passed. I can’t believe we started this in 1994. Granted it’s not the same lineup, songs or even musical direction, but after joking around and playing bad metal at practice today I realized that it is still pretty much the same. Oh well, not much newsworthy to mention except that we go in to demo our songs for the next album on Jan 10th. I’m anticipating that the songs will be too rough to post on the web site but you never know we might try and sneak a song in if they turn out ok. Happy new year everyone.

Finally some new merchandise offerings. The big news is that we’ve got hoodies again! They’ve got creepy cats on them whipped up by Aaron Edge of odeum.org. The pullover hoodies are here and ready to order. The zip-ups got delayed a little but should be ready to go by the new year. Also, for those of you on a budget (or those with an obsessive button collecting habit) we’ve got two new buttons designs. One features a variation of our 800 ball and the other features, you guessed it, a cat. For those and more items check out the merchandise page. Other news is we are adding people to our street team again. We’re stopping at 175 so if you want to help out our band at all here’s your chance to get on board. The only other news of interest is that we’ve booked our studio time for the next album. We’re scheduled to record at Egg Studios in Seattle in mid-Feb and early March. Overly obsessive updates on our progress can be expected
