First off apologies to anyone who came to see our show at the Ash Street last week. We hate cancelling shows but every once in a while it happens. I think is only our 4th last minute cancellation so that’s not too bad of a track record. Anyway, a few items of interest for those who are interested. We’re about 80% of the way done with our new songs for our upcoming split with The Independents. Only thing left are a few guitar clean up’s and completing the vocals. The tracks sound good and we’re excited to hear the finished product. The tentative release date is August. After a six month wait we finally have some new merchandise. First off are two new shirt designs. One has a picture of Justin’s broken guitar and the second is another creepy cat from an older button design. We finally got about 2000 new stickers that we borrowed from the back of our last t-shirt design. Last item up are some new guitar picks. They are actually Eric’s personal stash (note the huge size) but if anyone wants some you can find this and all the other items on our merchandise page.
This month, better yet this weekend, we’re doing some recording. We’re doing a handful of songs with Sam from Take92 Studio in Eugene. The tracks will be for a split CD w/ The Independents due out later in the year. As for shows we’ve got a few. Two of which will be with the previously mentioned Independents who are better known as the world’s most badass and only ska-punk-horror band. We’ve also got a trip to Salem and another to Olympia in the works. Lastly, if you live in Portland, try to check out the one on the 10th. It’s a Tuesday but the touring band (Zombeast) seems totally cool and has promised to rock everyone’s face who attends.
Last month was busy, this month is slow. I guess the only thing “newsworthy” is that we’re going to record a couple of songs at Take 92 studios on the first week of April for a split CD due out this summer. Speaking of songs what’s with that SnoCap crap? Glad to see they only posted songs from 1999 on there. Anyway, the only shows this month are Bend on the 9th and Eugene on the 11th. The Eugene show is a matinee show in honor of our friend Hopper who died two years ago. Other than that we are practicing and trying to fine tune the songs for recording. That’s all for now.
Kind of a busy month. We have lots of shows coming up, including one with Only Crime tonight and a trip to Seattle next weekend. The biggest show for us is getting to play with Bomf! on Feb 10th at the Tonic Lounge. For those who haven’t know us for very long Bomf! was probably our favorite band to play with between ’97 and ’99. Great band, great guys and great memories. This is their reunion show and to cap it off Lopez will be playing as well. Total trip down memory lane. Can’t wait to throw beer at Brent and reminisce about monster burger at EJ’s. On another topic what you probably don’t know is that we actually did some recording this month. We went down to Eugene for two days to record demos with our friend Sam at Take92 studios. We actually did tracks for 18 new songs. We haven’t really done the demo thing before so hopefully it’ll help us get a solid album. We’re hoping to book the studio time for the “real” recording at some point during the month so stay tuned.
We’re just about sold out of almost all of our merch. What do we have on hand? Copies of Rise Again and some devil girl posters. Everything else is offically gone even including ‘The Return’. Good news is that means it’s time for some new merchandise which is long overdue. That should be coming a few months into 2007 so stay tuned. Since it’s the end of the year thanks again for everyone who stuck with us in 2006. We wouldn’t still be doing this if it wasn’t for you. Well, ok maybe we would. Everyone have a good holiday!
If you are planning on going to The Living End show you might get a move on buying tickets in advance. With the addition of The Briggs to the bill this is turning out to be a killer show!
So it seems we are down to the last twenty copies of ‘The Return’. If you want one directly from us you’ll want to order that soon. Check the merchandise page for details!
Our three shows with The Independents were a blast. If you got to check one out then pat yourself on the back. In an unusual twist we actually don’t have a proper Halloween show lined up this year due to vacations. We will be playing in Eugene on Oct 30th w/ Left Alone. Still not sure if any blood will make an appearance for that show but it should be fun. To get in the spirit check out our MySpace page as we have a special song of the month available for your listening pleasure.
We’re home from the “tour” and despite being short it was a blast. Special props to Mourningstar and Top Of The Fair for being cool as hell. Got a few weeks and then we have three shows in the NW with The Independents. Check one out if you can!
Twin Falls was awesome, Missoula was cool, Seattle/Tacoma sucked huge sweaty balls. If you can try to check one of the three remaining shows. Do it because you like our band, but also do it because Mourningstar and Top Of The Fair are both 2000 miles from home and both are having major van troubles. Last nights 10 hour drive to a cancelled show didn’t help. Every person through the door and every cd/shirt purchase helps more than you’d ever know.
