800 Octane is a very high energy band live and you can see this high energy on their CD which totally shows that they are not fake whatsoever. The singers voice is one of the main factors keeping them in a field of their own, and keeping them original. I can not compare them to any other local bands or even non local bands at the time. 800 Octane can be well classified as an “Super Rock Punk Band.” With lyrics ranging from girls to bullets to the brain. An easy vocal band meaning a good band to sing along while jumping threw the pit at their shows. They redid two of their old songs for this CD, “Day of the Dead” and “New Song #2” Which were a good amount of spice to get this CD going. 800 Octane is definitely a live band but, this CD does them justice, a good amount of justice. I would suggest buying this CD as soon as you can. If you like “Punk Rock” you will love this CD. Well done guys. Score : 9 out of 10 (Matt / Punkin’ Around)

Local PDX Rock and roll dish a new album just to keep the fans on their feet. It’s been a long wait for 800 to come out with a new album, but the wait is no more. And you can’t go wrong with this release!! They keep-you-rockin’ through this 12 song full length. They even re-did “Day of the Dead” & “New Song #2” for it. I would say this is some good Rock & Roll on this CD. The guys in 800 have a great talent for song writing; they seem to write songs for fans. Anthems some might say

Up-And-Coming Artists: 800 Octane. In 1994, four kids from Boone, NC got together to form a band called Hoss. 8 years, a 3000 mile move, a few demo tapes, 2 full-length CDs, countless compilations, 239 shows, 2 member changes, and a record deal later, they are still here, under the name 800 Octane. Dave, Eric, Jim, and Justin can’t be put it any one genre. The band successfully blends the sounds of alternative rock, punk, and pop-punk. Managing to be too catchy and slow for true punk enthusiasts but too aggressive for the pop-punk crowd, 800 Octane has a truly innovative and original combination of sounds. The Portland, Oregon band’s creative lyrics and fresh sound form the one-two punch that makes 800 Octane a must-hear. The band is currently in the studio, recording their third full-length CD, entitled

This is a well produced disc of revved-up poppy punk. The song-writing’s top-notch and the guys are great musicians. Dave naturally sings with confidence and Brian’s back-ups add even more harmony and sweetness to the mix. There’s some great songs about monsters, pimps and aliens, but the reminiscent “Radio” about friendship (and beer) and the emotional songs, like “Still the Same” and “Brand New Faces” are powerful and honest and really touch me. Beer Can Count: One. Kelly drew an amazing cover for the CD and penciled in a redneck clutching a beer can as he’s about to get hacked to pieces. (Beer Can Fanzine #3)

Pop-punk rock’n’roll from Portland, Oregon, I think. Their sound is like a very energetic Misfits mixed with the Ramones so get this “Misfones” influenced kinda thing happening (maybe even tighter). Kind of a stronger early Badtown Boys and Face to Face mix. Track #2 “Condescend” and track #8 “Golden Road” are harmony-induced songs that kept me tappin’ my toes over and over. I like this release a lot and I hope they’re around for at least a few more records. 12 songs that set my mood for the day! I can see this band on Fearless, Fat, Hopeless, Epitaph or Lookout! One of these days. Catch them before they do! (Flipside)
